Use Porter inside ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity and Gemini
Porter is accounting software plus a finance team. Add Porter as a custom connector in the assistant you already use, sign in with your Porter account, and ask questions about your company's books, invoices, bills and reports. Every assistant uses the same connector URL: https://mcp.buildwithporter.com/

What Porter can and cannot do from an assistant
- Can: answer questions about your books, invoices, bills, customers, vendors and reports, and link each answer to the records behind it.
- Can: draft and record bookkeeping work your Porter role allows, such as categorizing transactions or preparing an invoice.
- Cannot: move money. Porter never sends payments, transfers funds or pays bills from a chat.
- Cannot: see a company your Porter account has not been given access to.
Security
You sign in with your own Porter account through OAuth, so the assistant never sees your password. Access is scoped per company and follows your role in Porter, and you can disconnect the connector at any time from the assistant's settings. See Security for how Porter protects your data.
Names may vary slightly
These steps follow each product's own documentation. Menu names change as those products update, so a label may read slightly differently in your account. If you get stuck, email support@buildwithporter.com.
